Mid-Nineteenth Century print of an engraved portrait of “Joseph Thayendaneken Commonly Called Brant, a Mohawk Chief,” 1743-1807. The original engraving from which this print was made was completed while Brant was in London, England, from December 1775 to June 1776. Brant subsequently was commissioned Captain in the British Indian Department. This print measures 6 1/4″ X 3 3/4″ unframed and 12″ X 14″ framed. The frame is a hand-crafted, solid wood reproduction.
